a quick blog to let people know about why i was gone and i stopped posting soda news
why i stopped
to start, i was struggling to find a style i liked for the posts
i didn’t want something that felt too similar and boring every time, but i also didn’t want something super hard to make and unique every time
(see below the style change i tried)
it was also kinda bad because there are weeks with no news and weeks with tons of news and i didn’t want to just post nothing in-between so i worked on a “soda of the week” which i tried making many of but they weren’t really something i like and kinda just a chore to make
i tried making another one for crystal pepsi which i could’ve but i tried making more detailed posts on the website with like actual paragraphs and it kinda just felt like a chore, it did help me figure out i don’t like writing stuff like that and i only like writing fiction and stories
the return
the inspiration came back a month or so ago when i was remaking my carrd website, i then ended up wanting a blog and better website so i made one on wordpress, then i thought “this is way more customizable i should move soda city here” and so i did
i got back in touch with a friend who is willing and wants to help with soda city so now i have help and a better website and A PLAN
the NEW soda city will be:
- news: videos about new soda/soda brands
- sodapedia: occasional videos about the history of the bev
- reviews: reviews from both me and my friend about new sodas (if we can get them because we don’t actually live in LA where everything is :P sorry )
- new logo: and background but that looks the same
- and whatever else we think is fun to make!!
the old soda city i had confined myself to so many bounds because i wanted to be professional and make high-quality and fast news (which we will still do don’t worry) but i realize now i will never be the fastest because other people have like actual insiders at pepsi and coke and i cant beat that so we’re just gonna make FUN and AWESOME content
with no consistent schedule because i hate schedule

tldr
TL;DR: soda city used to be unfun and stressful for me to make but now i have motivation and friends so we’re back making what makes us happy and doing what we’re good at
(at the exact time of this coming out the website and posts aren’t ready but shh)
